You catch 4742 more often than chance allows: a timestamp and a page number. There is foundation in the 4 and wisdom in the 7, and neither one runs without the other. Eight is power, so look at where you have been waiting for permission you already have.
What 4742 means
The 8 governs authority, ambition and the honest use of strength, especially around work and money. When a number reduces to 8, you likely have more leverage in a situation than you're currently using.
Inside 4742, the 4 carries the unglamorous work that decides whether something lasts. The 7 adds the answer that arrives once the noise drops. The 2 brings patience with timing that can't be forced.
The working, shown
4 + 7 + 4 + 2 = 17, and 1 + 7 = 8.
Every number in this system is read the same honest way: add the digits, reduce, and check whether a master number (11, 22 or 33) is trying to hold its full shape along the way.
Why you keep seeing it
Numbers repeat when a theme refuses to stay quiet. The theme is harvest: effort that has been spent and what it actually bought wants an honest audit. Note where it ends, on the 2: timing you cannot hurry.

Is 4742 a good sign?
The honest answer is that the number is neutral. It points at what is already moving in your life. The pattern is information, and information used well tends to end up called good.
Does seeing 4742 mean my wish will come true?
A number is not a delivery system for wishes. What it can do is show you what you were hoping for at the moment you noticed it, which is worth more than the wish itself.
Is 4742 connected to my Life Path number?
No, not directly. A number you keep seeing is about the present moment and your attention, which is what is alive right now. Your Life Path, Expression and other core numbers are calculated from your birth name and birth date, and they describe the fixed architecture you are working with underneath the weather of any single day.
