You've seen 1987 twice today already: a bus number and an email subject line. What you are dealing with is initiation from the 1 and completion from the 9, and they arrive together. The total lands on 7 as well, so take the one question you keep circling and stay with it long enough to hear an answer.
What 1987 means
The 7 is depth: study, solitude, and the kind of answer that only surfaces once the noise has been turned down. When a number reduces to 7, the invitation is inward, not outward.
Inside 1987, the 1 carries the spark of a beginning before it has a structure. The 9 adds the closing of a chapter so a cleaner one can open. The 8 brings the honest use of strength and the results that follow it.
The working, shown
1 + 9 + 8 + 7 = 25, and 2 + 5 = 7.
Every number in this system is read the same honest way: add the digits, reduce, and check whether a master number (11, 22 or 33) is trying to hold its full shape along the way.
Why you keep seeing it
The season explains more of this than the number does. Something in you has asked for silence, and the number keeps appearing until you grant it. Note where it ends, on the 7: depth that arrives when the noise stops.
What to do when you see it
Your assignment when 1987 shows up
Protect one thinking hour like an appointment, because that is what it is. The 7 in the number asks you this. Which hours of your week actually belong to thinking? Answer it once, then leave the pattern alone and watch what it does.

Is 1987 a good sign?
Neither good nor bad. A sighting describes the terrain you are standing on. The same number can greet a beginning or stand near an ending, and the difference is always what you decide to do with it.
Does seeing 1987 mean my wish will come true?
Not quite. The sighting is not a yes machine. It is a mirror, and what it reflects is what you were wanting when you caught it. That wants an action, and it won't wait.
Is 1987 connected to my Life Path number?
No, not directly. A number you keep seeing is about the present moment and your attention, which is what is alive right now. Your Life Path, Expression and other core numbers are calculated from your birth name and birth date, and they describe the fixed architecture you are working with underneath the weather of any single day.
