1098 has a way of landing in plain sight: a booking confirmation and a mileage counter. What you are dealing with is initiation from the 1 and completion from the 9, and they arrive together. The zero turns the volume up on both. The total lands on 9 as well, so finish the one thing that has been sitting at ninety percent.
What 1098 means
The 9 is completion: the closing of a chapter to make space for something that could not exist while the old one was still open. When a number reduces to 9, something in your life is finished, even if you've not formally closed it.
Inside 1098, the 1 carries the spark of a beginning before it has a structure. The 9 adds the closing of a chapter so a cleaner one can open. The 8 brings the honest use of strength and the results that follow it. A zero in the sequence works as volume, so whatever sits beside it arrives twice as loud.
The working, shown
1 + 0 + 9 + 8 = 18, and 1 + 8 = 9.
Every number in this system is read the same honest way: add the digits, reduce, and check whether a master number (11, 22 or 33) is trying to hold its full shape along the way.
Why you keep seeing it
A number keeps arriving until the theme it names gets an honest look. Something is finished and you have not fully let it go, and the number keeps appearing until you do. Read it from the front and the 1 leads, so the rest borrows its tone: a beginning that has not been given a name yet.
What to do when you see it
Your assignment when 1098 shows up
Name the ending out loud, to yourself or to someone else, and feel the space it makes. One more prompt, from the 1 this time. What beginning is available to you right now that you haven't admitted to yourself? Give it one real hour, and let the rest of the week stay as it is.

Is 1098 a good sign?
Neither good nor bad. A sighting describes the terrain you are standing on. The same number can greet a beginning or stand near an ending, and the difference is always what you decide to do with it.
Does seeing 1098 mean my wish will come true?
A number is not a delivery system for wishes. What it can do is show you what you were hoping for at the moment you noticed it, which is worth more than the wish itself.
Is 1098 connected to my Life Path number?
The two work at different levels. A sighting is about attention in the present. Your core numbers come from your full name and date of birth, and they describe the architecture underneath.
