You catch 1042 more often than chance allows: a timestamp and a page number. What you are dealing with is initiation from the 1 and foundation from the 4, and they arrive together. The zero turns the volume up on both. Seven is wisdom, so take the one question you keep circling and stay with it long enough to hear an answer.
What 1042 means
The 7 is depth: study, solitude, and the kind of answer that only surfaces once the noise has been turned down. When a number reduces to 7, the invitation is inward, not outward.
Inside 1042, the 1 carries the spark of a beginning before it has a structure. The 4 adds the unglamorous work that decides whether something lasts. The 2 brings patience with timing that can't be forced. The 0 makes everything louder, because it adds no message of its own.
The working, shown
1 + 0 + 4 + 2 = 7.
Every number in this system is read the same honest way: add the digits, reduce, and check whether a master number (11, 22 or 33) is trying to hold its full shape along the way.
Why you keep seeing it
The timing of the sightings is the real clue. The theme is depth: a question wants your attention more than your phone does. The number opens with the 1, and everything after it borrows that tone: a beginning that has not been given a name yet.
What to do when you see it
Your assignment when 1042 shows up
Protect one thinking hour like an appointment, because that is what it is. The 1 in the number asks you this. What beginning is available to you right now that you haven't admitted to yourself? Write the answer down and give it one hour this week.

Is 1042 a good sign?
Neither good nor bad. A sighting describes the terrain you are standing on. The same number can greet a beginning or stand near an ending, and the difference is always what you decide to do with it.
Does seeing 1042 mean my wish will come true?
Not quite. The sighting is not a yes machine. It is a mirror, and what it reflects is what you were wanting when you caught it. That wants an action, and it won't wait.
Is 1042 connected to my Life Path number?
A sighting is a moment and your chart is a standing structure. The number following you says something about your season, and your Life Path and the rest of your numbers, hand calculated from your birth name and birth date, describe what you are working with underneath every season.
